Adopt a Student^©

Wouldn't you have been happy if you had a one-to-one guide throughout your student life who would have helped you in answering numerous questions on a continuous basis. Well, we at Jaina Enginnering are striving to provide just that: a mentor. We have created a program where one student can have a mentor in a field of his/her liking through college. Furthermore, we would like both the parties to be from the same town if possible in order to have the best interaction. And of course, if the mentor or the mentee want to change or cancel this relationship or develop an alternate relationship, they would be more than welcome to do that.

Purpose

To formalize a relationship between a “professional adult” and a “student” in order to enhance the student's career via guidance.

Mentor/Professional Adult

As mentioned earlier, we expect the mentors to be adults engaged in a professional career. This program is purely voluntary. Below are a very few guidelines at this time, but will be updated as the program matures.

• Set up your own schedule with the student.
• Provide good information about your career to the mentee.
• Whenever possible, help the mentee get the training at an appropriate time, preferably in your organization.
• Follow the mentee's career as much as possible and make him/her aware of the pros/cons of the field he/she is entering.

Please send us an e-mail with a statement answering the question "Why you are interested in this program and how can help an individual achieve their goals?" Please also send a resume.

Mentee/Protege/Student

Because of the number of mentors, we're limiting this program to college and high school senior students at this time. The program may be extended to other students as the program matures.

• The student is expected to have some idea about the career he/she may be delving into. If you are not sure, we'll try to help you in that endeavor.
• The program requires the permission from the student's parents for participation.

Please send us an e-mail with a paragraph answering the question "Why you are interested in this program and what do you plan to do?".

Jaina

Jaina will try to match the mentor and the mentee as closely as possible, but you should let us know immediately if either party finds some incoherence.
